2007 Fall Product Sale

In case you haven’t heard, last year’s Fall Product Sale was a great success! Because of the positive response from troops, Girl Scouts of Middle Georgia, Inc. has decided to participate again. We would like to encourage all troops, from Brownies up, to take this opportunity to sell these quality products to your friends and family to help generate troop funds.

Just as in the Girl Scout Cookie Sale, the purpose of the Fall Product Sale is twofold: (1) to help girls develop leadership skills, learn business and money management, enhance their communication skills, and work as a team toward a common goal, and (2) to generate income for Girl Scout troops and Girl Scouts of Middle Georgia, Inc.

We are pleased that two of the candies, the Pecan Clusters and the Peanut Butter Dreams, are made in Eastman, Georgia; we are excited that this helps the economy within our 22-county jurisdiction.

The Fall Product Sale, which is focused on selling to just family and friends, is scheduled to run from October 27, 2007 until November 10, 2007. Remember, all monies are collected IN ADVANCE and turned in with the orders. There are no booth sales.

The training date is set for Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Sarah Bailey Girl Scout Center.

The Council will need to submit the orders, along with the payment, to Ashton Farms/QSP by November 19, 2007.

The products will be delivered during the week of December 10, 2007.

As with the Cookie Program, only Brownie, Junior, Cadette, and Senior Girl Scouts may participate. Our Cookie Program is a signature event for Girl Scouting and is recognized on a national level. Both sales are optional for troops to participate in, but if a troop participates in the 2007 Fall Product Sale, they must also agree to participate in the 2008 Cookie Sale.

Treasure Your Mind

Here is an additional, easy way to receive funds for your troop through Address Booklets. For each booklet completed with 10 or more complete names and addresses, QSP guarantees the troop $2.00 each. QSP will send each addressee an envelope inviting them to purchase popular magazines. It does not matter if the addressees purchase the magazines; the troop will still receive the $2.00 per booklet profit.

All troops of all age levels may participate in the Address Booklet program. Be on the lookout for more information about the 2007 Fall Product Sale.

Your participation in the 2007 Fall Product Sale and the 2008 Cookie Program helps not only your troop, but all of the Girl Scouts throughout middle Georgia. We hope you will choose to participate in both and join the fun, learning, teamwork, community spirit, and friendship.

2008 Cookie Sale

The purpose of the Girl Scout Cookie Sale is twofold: (1) to help girls develop leadership skills, learn business and money management, enhance their communication skills, and work as a team toward a common goal, and (2) to generate income for Girl Scout troops and Girl Scouts of Middle Georgia, Inc.

The vision for the Girl Scout Cookie Sale is to develop the sale in ways that will:

Maintain the sale as an important life-learning experience for girls. Enhance the perception of the sale as a way to support Girl Scouting in general. Continue the sale as the premier program-related revenue source in this country and a source of substantial pride and revenue for the Girl Scout movement. Each troop participating in the Cookie Program must have a Troop Cookie Manager Financial Contract (Form B-2) on file at the Girl Scout Council. Before signing Form B-2, the Troop Cookie Manager should read the Troop Cookie Manager’s Volunteer Job Description and Agreement on Form B-1. Cookie Training sessions will be held in the different service units and scheduled by your Field Executive. Each troop must have AT LEAST ONE person in the troop trained in order for the troop to participate in the Cookie Sale. The Troop Cookie Manager Financial Contract must be completed and returned to Sarah Bailey Girl Scout Center by Friday, October 26, 2007.
