Delivery of Service
To provide an effective delivery of service system, Girl Scouts of Middle Georgia, Inc. is divided into subdivisions called Service Units. Service Unit boundaries are established geographically by school districts, county lines, or by neighborhoods.
In order to provide a wide array of program opportunities, training events and supportive services, Service Units are combined geographically and referred to collectively as Associations. Service Units consist of all registered adults and girls within its boundaries. Service Unit meetings are held regularly for adult volunteers. Field Executives are responsible for scheduling and conducting these meetings along with the Service Unit Managers.
Every Service Unit usually has a Service Team composed of volunteers. A Service Team is the decision-making body of the Service Unit, responsible for seeing that plans are developed for girl and adult recruitment, inter-troop activities, community events, public relations, and for providing resources and adult training opportunities.
The Field Executive serving that geographic area appoints the Service Unit Manager. Service Unit Managers and the Service Team members work within the policies and standards set by Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. and Girl Scouts of Middle Georgia, Inc.
