Camp Manipines

is available for Girl Scout troops/groups and other organized groups that support a philosophy or purpose consistent with that of Girl Scouts of Middle Georgia, Inc. Girl Scout troops/groups. are required to have a First-Aider and a Troop Camp Trained adult present. A currently certified adult lifeguard is required if girls will be in the water.

Camp Manipines is located on 38 wooded acres occupying almost half of an isolated cove. The camp has approximately 16 acres of waterfront property with an enclosed wooden dock area for swimming.

There are three cabins with eight beds each, a screened shelter with a fireplace/grill, tables and chairs, a kitchen with stove, refrigerator, sink, hot water heater and a bathroom with toilets and sinks. Located near the cabins is a bathhouse with toilets and showers.

Near the shelter a path leads to a clearing by the lake with concrete tables and seats.

Equipment

Lifeguard equipment and mattresses are stored in the kitchen/storeroom.

Tents and other equipment may be checked out by Girl Scout troops from the Girl Scout Center. Other groups should bring all supplies needed.

Reservations

Reservations may be made through the Director of Fund Development at 478-935-2221 or 800-868-4475, extension 119.

Girl Scout troops/groups should then use Troop Activity Requiring Council Approval (Form K) and forward it to the Program Services Director for approval.

Gate Key

Keys may be mailed to you or picked up at the council office 72 hours prior to your reservation start time with keys returned within 72 hours after the end of reservation period.

Other Policies

No changes are to be made to the site without prior approval from Girl Scouts of Middle Georgia. Trash should be carried from the camp site. Beds are not to be moved. No food or beverages inside cabins. No pets permitted. Only fallen wood may be used for campfires in the firering or you may bring your own supply.
